About the Role
At Vilgain, we produce a large part of our products in-house. To ensure production runs smoothly, efficiently, and without unnecessary downtime, we need reliable sourcing not only for ingredients, but also for all production-related materials surrounding them - packaging and ingredients.
As a Procurement Specialist – packaging & ingredients, you will take ownership of sourcing and supplier management for categories directly connected to manufacturing operations. Your role will have a direct impact on production continuity, product launches, operational costs, and the overall scalability of our manufacturing environment.
Success in this role means ensuring stable supplier performance, optimizing procurement costs, maintaining material availability, and supporting efficient production operations through reliable sourcing and strong supplier partnerships.
What you will do
Source, select, and manage suppliers packaging materials and ingredients.
Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and delivery conditions with suppliers
Lead RFQs, supplier comparisons, tenders, and sourcing initiatives within assigned procurement categories
Evaluate supplier performance including quality, reliability, pricing, lead times, and long-term scalability
Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure material availability and operational continuity
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements across procurement categories and internal production operations
Analyze procurement spend, supplier performance, and category data to support data-driven decision making
Prepare reporting and recommendations related to procurement performance and supplier management
Participate in improvement and standardization of procurement processes and operational workflows
What we are looking for
Approximately 2+ years of experience in procurement, within direct materials, manufacturing, production, or packaging-related categories
Experience communicating and negotiating with suppliers
Experience comparing supplier offers, leading RFQs/tenders, and evaluating procurement conditions
Strong analytical mindset and ability to work with procurement and operational data
Understanding of the importance of supplier reliability and operational continuity in production environments
Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive procurement topics independently
Strong communication and organizational skills
Czech language at a minimum C1 level
English proficiency sufficient for supplier communication and operational negotiations
KPI: how do we measure success
Cost optimization and savings within assigned procurement categories
Supplier reliability, quality, and on-time delivery performance
Reduction of production disruptions caused by material shortages or supplier issues
Procurement process efficiency and supplier responsiveness
Quality and competitiveness of negotiated commercial conditions
Accuracy of procurement reporting and spend analysis
Contribution to stable and scalable production operations
Improvement of supplier portfolio and sourcing strategy
